Double Degree Program
Double degree programs allow students to study for a portion of their academic career at UGM and the partner institution, resulting in two degrees upon successful completion. This immersive experience enhances academic qualifications and fosters international friendships and cultural understanding.
Students who choose Double Degree program will receive a Bachelor of Science with honors (B.Sc.hons.) degrees from Universitas Gadjah Mada and from the partner universities. Currently, Faculty of Biology UGM has established Double Degree program with Australian National University, University of Leeds, and Western Sydney University.

- University of Leeds is a public university in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Leeds is the 11ᵗʰ largest university in the United Kingdom, receiving over 67,000 undergraduate applications annually. Leeds is ranked 75ᵗʰ in the 2024 QS World University Ranking.
- Faculty of Biological Sciences is delivered via three schools: School of Biology, Biomedical Sciences and Molecular and Cellular Biology. Their programmes in the area of biology cover whole organism biology ranging from molecular to population scales and involve fundamental basic biology through applied research with considerable societal impact.

- The bachelor of science program at WSU opens up to a world of unlimited opportunities in astrophysics, conservation biology, drug design and pharmaceuticals, environmental health, food formulation, forensics, biomedical and biophysical research, hospital or pathology labs, plant science and horticulture, and wildlife management.
Exchange Program

Our Partner
- University of Groningen is a public research university of more than 30,000 students, is the second oldest and one of the most traditional and prestigious university in the Netherland. It’s ranked 139th based on QS World University Rankings 2024. The University of Groningen has eleven faculties, nine graduate schools, 27 research centers and institutes, and more than 175-degree programs.
- Founded in 1961, JCU is the second oldest university in Queensland and has affordable access to various world heritage sites including The Great Barrier Reef, Australia’s tropical rainforest and the savannah at Cape York, Peninsula, so it is not surprising that JCU is known for its excellence in the field of Marine Biology and Tropical Biodiversity Management.
- JCU is ranked 415th by the QS World University Ranking 2024, but ranked first in the world for Marine and Freshwater Biology and second for Biodiversity Conservation according to The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), as well as ranking in the top 100 according to the QS World Ranking for Earth and Marine Science, Environmental Science, and Hospitality and Leisure Management.

- UTHM is a public university in Batu Pahat, Johor, Malaysia. All programs offered by UTHM are fully recognized by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA), Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Board of Valuers, Appraisals and Estate Agents (BOVAEA) and other related proffesional bodies. It is ranked 1001-1200 by QS World University Ranking 2024.
- Yamagata University is a national university located in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. YU is ranked the tenth place in Japanese research organization ranking, announcement in April 2017, by the analysis of the number of the highly cited papers in a “Materials Science” field alone in the Japanese local national university. It is ranked 1201-1500 based on QS World University Ranking 2024. YU is the second-largest university in the Tohoku Region. The university has six faculties and about 10,000 students in four campuses.
